Much of what the Army is seeking in the upcoming detailed design phase for the optionally manned fighting vehicle was not made public on the U.S. government’s contracting website, with documents marked as “controlled unclassified information” in previous draft requests for proposals.
“One of our new formations that we’re developing is called the Multi-Domain Task Force,” Secretary of the Army Christine Wormuth said March 30. “It is designed to be able to bring together not just the traditional kinetic effects, but also to be able to leverage information, cyber and space.”
The first platoon of the Maneuver-Short-Range Air Defense System has been in Europe for nearly a year in response to an urgent capability gap former U.S. Army Europe Commander Gen. Ben Hodges identified in 2016.
