The Marine Corps has reactivated a fighter squadron with a lineage that traces back to Guadalcanal during World War II. Lt. Col. Nicholas J. Harvey was relieved of command of the Heavy Helicopter Squadron 361, known as the “Flying Tigers,” on Nov. 18. The used car salesman, who never served in the military, created stories about fake drug cartels to scam victims into paying for his protection. The move comes as Ellsworth Air Force Base prepares for the arrival of the new B-21 Raider. The Air Force currently bars airmen and guardians from growing beards, except for those who have a shaving waiver for medical or religious reasons. This is the third consecutive year the relief societies have joined together to raise funds through their “Mission Give” campaign.
