COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Police in Colorado Springs are investigating the weekend shooting death of a U.S. Army captain stationed at Fort Carson.
The body of 28-year-old Capt. Daniel Chamberlain Lehman of Santa Fe, New Mexico, was found early Saturday near an intersection in Colorado Springs. Police believe Lehman had been shot between 1:55 a.m. and 2 a.m.
On Wednesday, officers asked for the public's help with the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Colorado Springs Police at 719-444-7000.
Lehman’s obituary said he was a West Point graduate with a double major in nuclear physics and philosophy.
A veteran of Afghanistan, Lehman was assigned to the 4th Infantry Division’s 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, The Gazette reported.
