Authorities have arrested a Special Forces soldier for forcing a woman to perform a sexual act, the Fayetteville Observer reported Thursday.
Christopher McHargue, 41, was charged with a second-degree sexual offense, according to an arrest warrant with the Cumberland County magistrate’s office.
A spokesman for U.S. Army Special Operations Command confirmed to Army Times on Friday that McHargue, a sergeant first class, is a member of a subordinate unit and that the command is aware of the investigation.
The charges stem from a July 5 incident, the Observer reported, and bail was set at $15,000.
