WEST POINT, N.Y. — The U.S. Military Academy is welcoming a new class of more than 1,200.
Monday is reception day, or R-Day, at West Point. New arrivals are fitted for military clothing, given haircuts and start learning how to march and toe a line.
The reception kicks off six weeks of rigorous Cadet Basic Training, after which they will be formally accepted into the Corps of Cadets. The Acceptance Day Parade for the Class of 2022 is scheduled for Aug. 18.
The incoming class includes 294 women and 400 minorities.
Auditors posed as military beneficiaries and made covert calls to see if Tricare's mental health care providers were reachable and available as advertised.
When voters head to the polls to cast ballots this November, at least one out of every 10 election workers will be a veteran or a veteran's family member.
From secret Pentagon leaks to radicalization in the military community, Discord is continuing to grapple with keeping bad actors off the popular platform.
