Notre Dame basketball player Matt Farrell had just helped the Fighting Irish win 77-62 against Colgate. But that was just the icing on the cake.

After the win on Monday, Notre Dame junior Farrell was surprised with a video message from his older brother, Army 1st Lt. Bo Farrell, who was deployed to Afghanistan.

1st Lt. Farrell tells his brother in the video how proud he is and how he looks forward to being home with him soon — "really, really soon."

The surprise became a viral moment when 1st Lt. Farrell revealed he was actually at the arena, walking out to the court for an emotional reunion with his brother.

According to the Notre Dame basketball team's Twitter account, the New Jersey brothers weren't supposed to see each other again until February.
