Aviation warrant officers of the Active Duty List with five years in grade, and technicians with four years in their current grade, will be in the primary zones of consideration for the annual round of CW3, CW4 and CW5 boards that meet in early May.

The boards are slated to be in session May 10-26, with the results being announced in the summer, and promotions beginning in the fall.

Personnel officials anticipate that a selective continuation board, based on the needs of the Army, will meet after the promotion board to consider certain passed-over officers for continuation on active duty.

All CW2s, CW3s and CW4s who receive a second non-selection from their board, and who are not offered continuation, will be involuntarily separated or retired.

Zones of consideration for the promotion board will be based on an officer's specialty affiliation — either aviation or technical services, as follows:

Aviation (MOS 152C, 152D, 152F, 152H, 153A, 153B, 153D, 153E, 153F, 155A, 155E, 155F and 155G), for promotion to CW3, CW4 and CW5:

• Above-zone — CW2s, CW3s and CW4s with dates of rank of Sept. 30, 2010, and earlier.

• Primary zone — CW2s, CW3s and CW4s with dates of rank of Oct. 1, 2010, through Sept. 30, 2011.

• Below zone — CW4s with DOR of Oct. 1, 2011, through Sept. 30, 2012.

Technical services — MOS 120A, 125D, 131A 140A, 140E, 150A, 150U, 151A, 170A, 180A, 255A, 255N, 255S, 255Z, 270A, 290A, 311A, 350F, 350G, 350Z, 351L, 351M, 351Y, 352N, 352P, 352S, 353T, 420A, 420C, 640A, 670A, 740A, 880A, 881A, 882A, 890A, 913A, 914A, 915A, 915E, 919A, 920A, 920B, 921A, 922A, 923A, 948B, 948D and 948E:

• Above-zone — CW2s, CW3s and CW4s with dates of rank of Sept. 30, 2011, and earlier.

• Primary zone — CW2s, CW3s and CW4s with dates of rank of Oct. 1, 2011, through Sept. 30, 2012.

• Below-zone — CW4s with dates of rank of Oct. 1, 2012, through Sept. 30, 2013.

Officer evaluation reports submitted for these boards must arrive at the Human Resources Command by May 3. The required "thru date" for Code 11 promotion reports and Code 9 complete-the-record reports is April 10, 2016.
