Selection lists for colonel, major to be released Thursday

Selection lists containing the names of active component officers recommended for war college attendance and promotion to colonel and major will be released Thursday.

Boards making the selections met during the fourth quarter of fiscal 2015, which ended Sept. 30.

• Army Competitive Category senior service college selections for school year 2016-2017.
• Medical Corps and Dental Corps promotions to colonel.
• Judge Advocate General’s Corps promotions to major.

The nominations for colonel and major lists must be confirmed by the Senate before the Army can schedule promotions.

The school list will be used to schedule officers to specific war college and fellowship programs to begin in the summer of 2016.
