Results of the Regular Army and Active Guard and Reserve sergeant major training and selection board that met in September will be released Dec. 10.
Under the Army's select-train-educate-promote strategy, master sergeants compete for attendance at the Sergeants Major Course, and upon completion of the 10-month resident, or two-year non-resident, curriculum, are frocked to sergeant major.
The NCOs are officially promoted promote to E-9 when vacancies and requirements occur in their military occupational specialty.
