Most captains recommended for promotion by the 2015 Army Competitive Category major board have been slated for resident Intermediate Level Education courses to be conducted at several venues in 2016 and 2017.
The slating list also includes majors and promotable captains whose school attendance was deferred from earlier years.
School courses include the two 10-month Command and General Staff Officer Courses to be conducted at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, beginning in August 2016 and August 2017, and the 14-week ILE satellite courses to be conducted at several Army installations in the United States.
Officers who want to defer attendance to 2018 or later, or change from a resident to distance-learning course, must submit a request to the Human Resources Command no later than Feb. 15.
Requests should be submitted on a DA Form 4187 (Personnel Action), and be endorsed by the first general officer in the requesting officer's chain of command.
Requests should be routed through an officer's career branch to the Leader Development Division of HRC's Officer Personnel Management Directorate.
