Here are the names and specialties of the Regular Army senior NCOs recommended by the nominative command sergeant major and key billet sergeant major selection board that met in June.
The NCOs will be placed on a nominative position referral list for possible future designation as command sergeants major and sergeants major at the one- and two-star level of command.
The soldiers will not be referred to a selecting official until they have completed at least 17 months in their current position, as of the position vacancy date.
The zone of consideration for the opt-in selection board that met June 15-19 included NCOs who have successfully served as sergeants major in centrally selected E-9 positions.
Soldiers who eventually are assigned to nominative positions will serve 24-moth tours. They will incur a 30-month service obligation beginning on the date they begin their nominative tours. The extra six-month obligation is designed to provide sufficient transition processing time for NCOs elect to retire after their command tour rather than re-compete for another nominative assignment.
