Authorities are investigating the death of a Fort Bragg paratrooper from the 82nd Airborne Division, the Army announced Tuesday.
Sgt. James Little III, 28, was found unresponsive in his car Monday morning and later pronounced dead. The Hoke County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
Little, of Hubert, North Carolina, was an allied trade specialist assigned to B Company, 407th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team.
"Sgt. Little was a dedicated and professional leader of paratroopers whose presence will be missed throughout the Golden Griffin family," Lt. Col. Little joined the Army in 2005 and entered basic combat training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He attended advanced individual training at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. He had been assigned to the 82nd Airborne since September.
Little served on three combat deployments, deploying to Iraq from September 2006 to November 2007, and to Afghanistan from October 2010 to October 2011 and again from July 2013 to March 2014.
