FORT POLK, La. (AP) — Army investigators say they should be done in a few weeks with an investigation into the death of a Fort Polk soldier who died during his arrest by military police last September.

An Army Criminal Investigation Command spokesman told the American Press(http://bit.ly/1DJDjTc ) that a few remaining pieces of information are still being obtained.

Spokesman Christopher Grey said the death of Pfc. Garrett R. Fox on Sept. 5 has not been ruled a homicide. Grey said the autopsy results cannot be released because they are part of the ongoing investigation.

Army officials said military police, responding to a North Fort housing call about an attempted break-in, saw Fox, who fit the suspect's description, in the vicinity.

They said Fox fled on foot but was spotted by an officer, who then tried to apprehend him. Officials said Fox became combative and that military police officers used both a Taser and pepper spray to subdue him.

After Fox was in custody, the officers noticed he was in medical distress, officials said.

Fox was transferred to a medical facility but was pronounced dead later that night, officials said.
