Fort Bliss soldier who stabbed pregnant woman sentenced to 30 years

Corey Moss pleaded guilty this week to a felony charge for his attack last year of Rachel Poole at her El Paso home.

Poole testified that Moss owed $3,000 to her and her husband, a soldier deployed in Qatar at the time, for damaging their vehicle.

Poole was talking via video with her husband, Army Spc. Justin Poole, who was deployed in Qatar and heard her scream before the line went dead.

Poole was left blind in one eye. She was eight months pregnant at the time and later gave birth to a healthy child.
