Update: Lockdown lifted at military post; no injuries reported
The home of the Army's materiel and missile commands is on lockdown Tuesday amid reports of a possible active shooter.
Redstone Arsenal urged those on site to "run, hide, fight" in posts on Twitter and Facebook on Tuesday morning, shorthand for instructions on how to handle an escalating active shooter explanation.
A spokesman for the Huntsville, Alabama, post told Army Times he had no further information.
The Marshall Space Flight Center on post first issued an alert about an emergency situation earlier in the morning, AL.comfirst reported, about a shooter near the headquarters for Aviation and Missile Command.
Though the installation was scheduled for an active shooter training this week, according to AL.com, today's incident is not a drill.
