A missing Fort Riley soldier was arrested after he was found safe on Wednesday.

Officials at the Kansas post, about an hour west of Topeka, asked for help in seeking Staff Sgt. Garett Michael Swift on Twitter.

According to the Topeka Capital-Journal, the Riley County Police Department received a request on Wednesday from Fort Riley to check on the soldier's welfare.

Police located Swift after several hours, and in that amount of time, Fort Riley issued a warrant for the staff sergeant's arrest, according to the newspaper.
