The Army plans 654 promotions to the grades of chief warrant officer three through colonel for the Regular Army in March, with most of those advancements being made from selection lists compiled in fiscal 2014.

The monthly promotion allocation, which is slightly smaller than the February authorization of 744, does not include any promotions for the Army Reserve component of the Active Guard and Reserve.

Within the Army Competitive Category, there will be 42 promotions to colonel, 102 to lieutenant colonel, 113 to major, 139 to captain and 102 to the senior chief warrant officer ranks.

The warrant officer authorization includes six promotions to CW5 – one for aviation, and five for the technical services. There will be 30 promotions to CW4, with 11 of those going to aviators, and 19 to tech services officers. The authorization for CW3 includes 21 promotions for aviators, and 45 for tech services officers.

Within the special branches, the March promotion plan will complete the fiscal 2014 Chaplain Corps colonel and major lists, while beginning a new list for the Medical Specialist Corps.
