Selection lists containing the names of active component officers designated for brigade and battalion command in fiscal 2016 will be released Feb. 5.
Slating lists containing specific assignments for the officers selected by the 2016 Army Competitive Category and Army Medical Department command and key billet boards will be released in late March or early April.
Deferment requests for officers on the selection lists must be received at the Human Resources Command no later than 60 days after the release of the slating lists. The vice chief of staff must approved deferment requests for Army Competitive Category officers, and the surgeon general for health services officers.
Officers who decline a command or key billet assignment after release of the slating lists no longer will be eligible for such assignments.
