The cast of the "Drinkin' Bros" podcast — including veterans who'll look familiar to fans of "Range 15" and certain viral videos feeds — will visit Colorado this week for two shows and an on-base appearance at Fort Carson, part of a test run for a possible nationwide tour.
Mat Best, Jarred "JT" Taylor, "Range 15" director and star Ross Patterson and others will tape a live podcast episode on Friday in Colorado Springs at the Pikes Peak Center. The appearance will include stand-up comedy and musical performances, and will be filmed by a production crew for a future "Drinkin' Bros" special, Taylor told Military Times.
Tickets are available for that show (doors open at 7 p.m.) and for an appearance in Denver the night before. Cast members also will appear at Fort Carson's USO center from noon to 2 p.m. local time for a meet-and-greet.
It's the first such podcast/performance for the crew, which is registering 1.5 million downloads a month, Taylor said. The podcast debuted in late 2015 and reached as high as No. 13 on the U.S. iTunes charts, beating out offerings from established podcasters such as Adam Carolla, Bill Simmons and Chris ("Nerdist") Hardwick.
Taylor called the Colorado Springs show a "test bed" for what could be road show of sorts, with stops at major U.S. military installations. It would add to a busy schedule for the crew, many of whom are involved with variousveteran-owned and -operated
as well as plans for a "Range 15" sequel.
