Army officials are investigating the death of a 22-year-old soldier found unresponsive Thursday in his barracks room at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Weston, of Washington, Illinois, entered service in March 2013 and joined the sustainment brigade the following year, the release states. The signal support systems specialist earned the Army Commendation Medal and National Defense Service Medal, among other awards.

He is survived by his mother, father and sister, the release states. Army Criminal Investigation Command is investigating the incident; no further details were provided by the service.
