A soldier died at Fort Hood, Texas, during medical evacuation hoist training on Tuesday, according to a news release.
A 1st Infantry Division crew from Fort Riley, Kansas, was conducting the training with an HH-60M Black Hawk medical evacuation helicopter. The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. on the Fort Hood range south of Robert Gray Army Airfield, the release said.
The name of the soldier won’t be released until 24 hours after all next-of-kin have been notified, officials said.
