A soldier found unresponsive in his off-post home on Saturday has been identified as a 40-year-old noncommissioned officer with 1st Cavalry Division, according to a Fort Hood release on Wednesday.
Staff Sgt. Jon Michael Bullard was pronounced dead at a Temple, Texas, hospital on Sunday. The circumstances of his death are under investigation, the release said.
Bullard, who had served 18 years as a fire support specialist, had been assigned to 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team for two years.
His deployments included three rotations to Iraq between 2005 and 2011.
His awards and decorations include four Army Commendation Medals, 11 Army Achievement Medals and six Good Conduct Medals, according to the release.
